Preparing For Us

First off, check out your ashbox and clean out any excess debris. This will help us get a better look into your system, and it makes our job a whole lot easier. Our sweeps always appreciate this courtesy!

Next, clear the area around your fireplace and remove any decorations or other items from your mantle. We don’t want to break any of your fragile possessions and it gives our techs all the space they need to get the job done right and in a timely manner.

Lastly, make sure you don’t use your fireplace for a full 24 hour period before we arrive. We want to ensure every part of your chimney has had the time to adequately cool before we dive into the inspection. It helps us keep our staff safe, and we will be able to a completely thorough job knowing everything is ready for us.

What To Expect

If you’re not sure what to expect during your inspection, we can provide some insight on that, too! The sweeps at SirVent Chimney & Venting Service are all trained and certified in level 1, 2, and 3 inspections, so you know we’ve got your back no matter what.

Level 1 inspections are typically more common than the other two. If your system is checked regularly and hasn’t undergone any major changes or reconstruction recently, then you should be perfectly fine with a level 1 inspection. Your sweep will examine all accessible parts of your system and will ascertain that nothing is interfering with your appliance’s overall efficiency.

Level 2 and 3 inspections will be more in depth. If you’ve undergone any repairs, renovations, or new construction, you’ll want to invest in a level 2 inspection. Also, if you are buying or selling a house, this is required. Lastly, level 3 inspections are necessary when a level 1 or 2 just won’t cut it. If parts need to be removed to inspect potentially hazardous areas, then this is the recommended service to ensure proper functioning in the future.

We can’t wait to check your system over and make sure everything is running as safely as possible – it’s our passion! If you have yet to schedule your inspection, give us a call right away and beat the fall rush. We looking forward to hearing from you soon!
